Jerry Matthews has been blind for approximately fifteen years. He currently serves as Program Chairman for the Lillington Lions Club where he is a very active member, and has made arrangements for many excellent presentations. Mr. Matthews is a native of Harnett County, but he lived in Wilkes County for many years, where he was employed in the funeral home business.
Although he is blind, Mr. Matthews lives alone and has learned to continue to do so many things that all of us take for granted. In order to adapt, he uses a variety of equipment items for the visually impaired. Each year, he attends Camp Dogwood and is a great supporter of the camp.
Mr. Matthews has presented programs on Equipment for the Visually Impaired for several Lions Clubs and is willing to share this information with others in District 31-F. If your club would like to schedule such a presentation, please contact Mr. Matthews at 910-893-5336.
