South Eastern North Carolina Radio Reading Service Inc.

Bob Hawthorne,  a member of the Lillington Club, reads on air the local news of the day for the Radio Reading Service.  This program is sponsored by WFSS 91.9 FM at Fayetteville State University for those that are visually impaired.  A radio   receiver is given to those in need at no charge.  Currently the greatest need of this  program is volunteers to read on air and sponsorship of the radios that cost the program $100.00 each.

The mission of the Southeastern North Carolina Radio Reading Service is to enhance the quality of life for visually-impaired and disabled citizens and to help these individuals maintain their connection to their communities by providing local and regional newspapers, magazines and current novels in audio format.
