Lion C.P. “Smoke” Wayne (1926 – 2010)Past District Governor and NCLF President

C.P. “Smoke” Wayne died November 12, 2010 at his home.  He was born August 8, 1926 at (Wannanish) Lake Waccamaw to Nora Josephine Pierce and Henry Newkirk Wayne.  He was a dedicated member of the Whiteville Lions Club since 1951. He served as President of the Whiteville Lions Club, N.C. Lions District Governor (1970-1971), N.C. Lion State Council Chairman (1970-1971), and was elected President of  the N.C. Lions Association for the Blind in 1976.  “Smoke” was an active supporter of the Boys and Girls Home of N.C. and served as a trustee for many Years.  Memorials may be made to the N.C. Lions Foundation, 7050 Camp Dogwood Dr., P.O. Box 39 Sherrills Ford , N.C. 28673 or the Boys & Girls Home of N.C., P.O. Box 127, Lake Waccamaw , N.C. 28450
