I hope that you have had a great Christmas and New Years. It is now time to refocus our attention on what the Lions do best and that is provide service to those less fortunate than we are. I was just reading the LCIF newsletter that talked about the first anniversary of the Haiti earthquake and what the Lions did to provide help to those poor folks. But closer to home we have an opportunity to provide support to the blind and visually impaired people that go to Camp Dogwood each year to experience a wonderful week of camping. But the Lions need to provide financial help to keep the Camp in good condition. That is where the Camp Dogwood ticket sales comes into play. All of the money that is raised through the ticket sales go towards the maintenance of the Camp and to retire the debt on the new dorms that were built over the past couple of years. As District 31F Chairperson for Camp Dogwood, I am available to provide a program to your club to more fully explain the particulars of the camp and how your money is put to good use. Each Lions Member is asked to sell 3 books of tickets. Please send me an email or give me a call (919-498-9189) to schedule a program for your club. I look forward to visiting with you.
